Opening night lecture

8th Magic from the sock drawer.
All those tricks that are gathering dust. One man's rubbish is another's ...well you can guess the rest
 
  22nd Polo mints to hula-hoops . Any trick with a ring of any size  
 
October 6th

Informal Night. A chance to have a blether and show off your latest creation or ask advice from fellow members

 
13th Psychic Sorcery. Tricks of the mind. Mental mysteries to astound  
27th Tommy Frederick Memorial Lecture
featuring 
Max Gordon
An evening of spellbinding close-up magic combined with cutting edge comedy
 
   
November 3rd Open forum/initiation night. An evening set aside to welcome new members to the fold.
  7th  Mega-Sale and exchange at the Premier Inn, Ballater street. Giant bring and buy. Get rid of all your old effects lying in your sock drawer and take home new stuff to fill the space  
  10th Stand-up competition. A chance to win the SCA's coveted stand-up trophy  
24th Casino night. Anything connected loosely or otherwise to gambling and casinos  
   
   
December 1st Grab Bag. Your host Jim Meek will furnish his victims/guests with a bag in which will be the necessary items to perform a trick  
  8th Christmas Party Night. Come along and enjoy a night of banter and good cheer as we celebrate an early Christmas evening with fun and frolics  
   
   
January 5th Informal Night. Time for a blether and a chance to wish each other a happy new year and show what Santa brought.

 

  12th Lecturettes. A chance for some of our gifted members to share their secrets and show off their skills  
19th Children's Road show at Mike McCurry's Mosspark Church. With a host of stars performing children's magic this is an opportunity to see kid's magic at the sharp end.  
  26th Video night. Harry Gallacher presents a collection of some wonderful  magic old and new from his vast collection  
       
February 2nd Informal night. Come and have a chat and share a trick or ask for advice from some of the more learned members.

Tricks from a book. An opportunity to prove you can read. Perform something you have read and share the name of the effect and the book it can be found in. Have a look at our new library list if you need inspiration

 
  18th-20th Blackpool Convention.  
  23rd SCA's got talent. Stand by your buzzers as we take a pop at performers ala X factor.  
       
March 2nd open forum/initiation night. Another opportunity to have a gab and welcome new members to the SCA.  
  9th  Close-up competition. A chance to compete for the SCA's top prize. of the year.  
  23rd Duncan Fletcher Memorial Lecture
 featuring Bill Abbot.
As one of Canada's foremost magicians, Bill Abbott has been performing since the age of five, making numerous television and film appearances, sharing his talents with audiences throughout Canada and Western Europe.
 
       
April     6th Informal night  
  13th Tricks with a stacked deck. Any trick will do.....a stacked deck could be all 52 cards or 2 aces on top....the choice is yours. Show off your false shuffle or not ...it's up to you.  
  20th Lecture by

As a creator, performer and teacher, Jay Scott Berry is recognized as one of the Masters of the Art of magic
 
  27th   First trick and latest trick. Take a trip down memory lane and show the first trick you learned ( not pull my finger ....please !) and perhaps the latest one you have picked up or are working on

President's night. More info will be posted as it comes in.....
 
25th  A.G.M. Your chance to vote in your committee for the coming season and your chance to say what is wrong or right at your club.
